Danny, Dex and The Duke

Danny, Dex and The Duke
 The story so far

Sometime in 2002 Noted Singer Songwriter Daniel Charles Tweedie re-located from his native London (where he had enjoyed an illustrious career in music) to Italy, in search of professional musicians, with an idea to form a small band for touring, performing and releasing his songs.
After a scrupulous search Daniel, in a mixture of coincidence, timing and sheer good fortune,  encountered Veronese Maestro, Aronne ‘The Duke’ Gasparato,  and a formidable writing and performing partnership was born, sweeping across the musical spectrum and combining multiple genres from the past to the present, with each half of the partnership adding their experienced musical and cultural ingredients to these special songs that positively ring with vibrancy and above all, fluid, timeless melody

At Gasparato’s suggestion Saxophonist Paolo ‘Dex’ Balini was added to the mix and then they were three, at this point the tight-knit trio embarked on a series of shows in the north of Italy, Stunning audiences and receiving rapturous applause and curtain- calls wherever they played.

In their live set featuring around 80% TweedieGasparato compositions, it was also decided to re-interpret the works of great writers, transforming them into breathtaking improvisory journeys
for the heart and soul, with songs effortlessly segueing in and out of each other to create an almost dreamlike intensity that brings nothing but hushed reverent attention from audiences, hanging on every note and word.
